Windows Internals Part 2, Six Edition, Sept. 2012
W
indows Internals, Sixth Edition is intended for advanced computer professionals
(both developers and system administrators) who want to understand how the
core components of the Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 operating
systems work internally. With this knowledge, developers can better comprehend the
rationale behind design choices when building applications specific to the Windows
platform. Such knowledge can also help developers debug complex problems. System
administrators can benefit from this information as well, because understanding how
the operating system works “under the covers” facilitates understanding the perfor-
mance behavior of the system and makes troubleshooting system problems much
easier when things go wrong. After reading this book, you should have a better under-
standing of how Windows works and why it behaves as it does.
这是最新版的windows internals,第二部分。

Pro HTML5 Programming Powerful APIs for Richer Internet Application Development
2010年出版的超新的HTML5资料
HTML5 is brand new. Indeed, it isn’t even finished yet. And if you listen to some ornery pundits, they’ll
tell you that HTML5 won’t be ready for ten years or more!
Why, then, would anyone think that now’s the time for a book called Pro HTML5 Programming?
That’s easy. Because for anyone who’s looking for an extra edge to make your web application stand
above the rest, the time for HTML5 is right now. The authors of this book have been working with,
developing, and teaching HTML5 technologies for more than two years now and can claim with
certainty that adoption of the new standards is accelerating at dizzying speeds. Even over the course of
writing this book, we’ve been forced to continually update our browser support matrix and reevaluate
our assumptions about what is ready to use.
Most users don’t really understand the power that’s available in the browsers they are now using.
Yes, they might notice some minor interface enhancement after their favorite browser has automatically
updated. But they might have no idea that this new browser version just introduced a free-form drawing
canvas or real-time network communication, or any number of other potential upgrades.
With this book, we aim to help you unlock the power HTML5.

IPv6 Advanced Protocols
This book is the second installment of our series detailing IPv6 and related protocols through
the KAME implementation. KAME is a widely deployed de facto reference implementation for
IPv6 and IP security protocols developed on multiple variants of the BSD operating systems.
The first installment of this series is titled IPv6 Core Protocols Implementation, which is
referred to as the Core Protocols book below, and it focuses on the fundamentals of IPv6 and
the essential protocols that are supported by most implementations. These essential protocols
operate in IPv6-capable devices, large or small. Our Core Protocols book also describes IPv6
implication on higher layer protocols, such as TCP and UDP, and covers IPv6 related application
programming interfaces.
This second book discusses those protocols that are found in more capable IPv6 devices,
are commonly deployed in more complex IPv6 network environments, or are not specific to
IPv6 but are extended to support IPv6. Specifically, this book engages the readers in more
advanced topics, such as routing, multicasting, DNS, mobility, and security.
The general structure and style of this book is the same as that of the Core Protocols book;
each chapter begins with a summary of the relevant specifications followed by line-by-line code
description and analysis of the actual implementation.
We hope to help the readers establish a solid and empirical understanding of IPv6 with our
book series. Our two books together cover a wide spectrum of the IPv6 technology and are
paralleled by none.

IP v6 in Practice
Throughout this book you will see a variety of Unixen in a number of test
setups, plus a few more Unixen at my home page. I recommend you first
stick with your Personal Pet Unix. Dealing with IPv6 will be difficult enough
in a few cases; using an unfamiliar Unix at the same time will only cause
unnecessary pain.
The chapters are arranged in a way to put things to work as soon as
possible.
The first part deals with fundamental topics that are virtually impossible
to skip. There are however sections called either “Inside IPv6” or “Packet
Filter Considerations” which you probably want to ignore on first reading.
The “Inside IPv6” sections provide some details of the inner workings of IPv6
that are sometimes useful for debugging or just interesting by themselves. The
“Packet Filter Considerations” provide additional information necessary to
set up a packet filter, from protocol details like port numbers to architectural
suggestions.
The following parts address topics that may be irrelevant to you, so feel
free to skip whatever you don’t need. If you care about security however, a
basic understanding of these topics and their security implications is essential,
so you want at least to skim these parts.
Finally, there are two appendices, one giving a crash course on DNS administration
with BIND and the other providing a list of various well-known
addresses and port numbers, plus a bibliography and an index.

Running IPv6 2006
This is a book about running the IPv6 protocol in heterogeneous environments. It will tell
you how to enable the protocol on Windows, MacOS, FreeBSD, Linux, and Cisco routers, and,
up to a point, on Juniper routers. The intent behind the book is to present a clear view of the
aspects to IPv6 that are of interest to those who’ll be running and administrating the protocol,
not to bombard the reader with unnecessary details. This means that the book covers the IPv6
specifications to the degree necessary to successfully operate an IPv6 network; for a detailed
discussion of the IPv6 protocol itself, see IPv6 Essentials by Silvia Hagen (O’Reilly & Associates,
2002) or IPv6: The New Internet Protocol (Second Edition) by Christian Huitema (Prentice Hall,
1998). Alternatively, you can get this information straight from the horse’s mouth by reading the
relevant Request For Comment documents that specify the IPv6 standards. See Appendix A for
a list of IPv6-related RFCs and how to obtain RFCs.
